Walter Wood, a professional skier and student living the dream of skiing. His travels have taken to Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, France and Canada. By the age of 13, Walter was a dedicated athlete with a dream and self guided path of becoming a professional skier. He attended public high school, trained on weekends and managed his time between schoolwork, training, travelling and graduating one year early at the age of 17. Halfpipe, slopestyle and rails all came natural to Walter, as did rotating in all directions and soaring high in the air. By the young age of 16, Walter competed in his first X- Games and stood on the podium with the only American flag at the first World Cup Halfpipe competition on US soil. Winner of the 2010 World Ski Invitational Halfpipe event he trains during the summer at the Utah Olympic Park. Walter loves the feeling of freeskiing while also filming throughout the season. Focused on school you’ll still find him enjoying all aspects of the sport and exploring all areas of the mountain with a smile on his face.
